Clinical Psychologist providing compassionate psychological therapy to children and adults in St. Helens (North West) and online across the UK

Evening & weekend appointments are available

We all dream of the way we want our life to be.

Then life happens and sometimes it can feel like we are stuck in a pattern of living that we do not want to be in. Or we live through painful experiences that days, months, or years later continue to influence how we feel, think and act. Or maybe our family life and relationships feel out of balance, we may feel out of control, overwhelmed or disconnected from our loved ones.

I am here to listen to your story, your difficulties and your dreams of how you wish your life, relationships, work, and family to be.

I want to help you to be kinder towards yourself.

Therapy can help you to feel unstuck, so that you can enjoy being who you are.

✨️ Therapy with me can feel calming. I can help you to connect with your emotions, even those that are too uncomfortable to feel and are pushed down. Together, we can help you to feel in control of those emotions and your reactions to them.

✨️ I can help you to feel more compassion and kindness towards yourself, even if while you read this you feel you do not deserve that kindness.

Let’s talk about what you need, what I can offer, and provide you with the opportunity to work out if I am the right person to help you.

Everyone’s experience of life is different and everyone’s difficulties are different. As a Clinical Psychologist I am trained in various forms of therapeutic approaches and styles.

This means I am able to support you with many difficulties, from supporting you to manage distress and anxiety, to helping you to heal from trauma, to providing a space for you to explore who you are, why you may be self-critical, or why you may find yourself repeating unhealthy relationship patterns.

Many times I have been told I have a calming influence on those around me, especially in the therapy room. This helps those I support to feel relaxed and listened to, which in turn allows them to engage in the therapy. I will always try to create a calm atmosphere for you. I will listen and connect with you. I will also always encourage you to be kinder and more compassionate towards yourself. Because you deserve to love who you are.

I typically support people using a blend of approaches including narrative based therapy, compassion focused therapy, cognitive analytic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy. I can work alongside other professionals who support you, including your GP and educational setting.

Currently, I support individuals, from children to adults. I help couples who may want to better understand the needs of each other or to work through conflict or issues. I also provide parenting support.

I am also creating therapeutic groups to support adults struggling with anxiety, self-critical beliefs, stress and also parenting guilt and worry. Please sign up to the newsletter below or follow the Facebook page to receive updates about the groups.

Therapy can be provided weekly or fortnightly, to suit your needs. I also offer one-off parenting support appointments.

I currently work in the evenings and at weekends.

We can arrange a free 15 minute consultation (a conversation) to work out if you feel I can be helpful. If not, I will do my best to share resources and other support services with you.

I can support you in person or online

Our therapy sessions are provided online via video call or in a warm, comfortable therapy room in St. Helens, Merseyside, in the North West.

The room is close to St. Helens Central train station, the bus station, and has plenty of parking nearby.
